Anyone know where the map light connects under the dash when it comes off the a pillar on a 1970 GS? Or, does anyone have a legible dash wire schematic handy? Have the books somewhere, wife says they are “in the box in the basement”. Spent 2 hours looking for the magic basement box with no luck.
The wire I have is dark (black maybe) with a pinkish tracer. I think it may be for the power accessory group, which I don’t have.
Should be a gray wire with the female end on it to match the mirror map light wire runs down the a pillar to under the dash. Wire could be wrapped up with the wiring harness from the factory if the car didn't come with a map light.
Did all 70-72 skylark/GS cars have the plug even if it didn't come from the factory with a map light?
ttt, asking the same question. I`m going to assume the American Autowire harness has the pink wire ? if so, I cant find it on my new harness
The map light wire is gray and has a separate small harness that plugs into the fuse box. It also has another female attached. I think Todd has them on his website.
Try this, just scroll down the page until you find this. Nelson http://www.diecastmusclecars.com/buick_wire_harness.htm .
OK, I have that harness. So that harness with the plug goes into the fuse box then ? anyone have a pic handy ?
Ok, the red circled plug inserts into the fuse box ACC where it is also red circled. The blue male is where the map light plugs into. If you have other accessories you have the additional plug. Hope this helps.. .
