Is there any harm to bench bleed the MC with the Combination Proportioning Valve already hooked up? Looking for some tricks about the least messy way to install a bench bled system in the car. If I understand right, then I have to attach the brake lines while brake fluid is dripping. So I have work fast and have some cloth in the car to avoid brake fluid spilling. Additional I plan to preload the pedal, so that the piston prevents the fluid to leave the reservoir. Any better way to do it?
Im sure I will be chastized by some but I have never bench bled anything! And not had issues either. Have I done thousands? No, but plenty of times - both stock and custom systems. Perhaps Im just lucky
I also didn't bench bleed any MC's and never ever had any problems and mess.... And i did it a lot, i turn wrenches for a living. Peace, Kacper.
Thst should work, I assume you just plugged the other front outlet??? I would put in on the car with those hoses still in there till lines are formed and ready to go
I will mockup everything in the car w/o brakefluid, bending the lines, etc., so that everything assembles quite good. Next I will remove the Master for the bench bleeding and afterwards reinstall it the way you described it. Thanks!
I got the huge cover plate from motive for pressure bleeding. Was not impressed with the enclosed chains and J-rods for attaching the cover on the reservoir. So I decided to use the J-Rods, but with a steel band. Performed a pressure test w/ air, but was not able to get the cover sealed. Worst thing would be brake fluid spilling or squirting once installed in the car. So I decided to go overboard and to use some leftover material I had lying around. Pressure test was ok and I will get some wingnuts, so that I do not risk overtightening and bending the cover. Guess that will do
