I have seen when mounting the passenger side sport mirror on a car that did not come with it. That you need to put a support inside the door to keep metal from sagging. Do I need to find an original for the passenger side? Can I use a driver side and remove it from it from door and mount on passenger side. I know where a skylark is sitting in a junkyard or can I just make my own? Just curious on what you all have used.
Without an interior back up, youll notice road vibrations etc. I laid out the holes, then made a plate for inside and attached it with some Loctite heavy duty construction adhesive. After two days of curing I pulled the screws and attached the mirror. Rock solid daddio! Without it, if somebody leans on that mirror its gonna bend the door skin... at the very least. ws
Thanks John! I have this anal tendency to paint everything I do/make. Even a piece of wood on the boat, gets all 6 sides finished before an install. Sometimes its for the finish, other times its just a barrier coat... ws
