So is a 70 350-2bbl core worth anything these days?

I have a 350 engine out of this 70 Skylark parts car...which will inevitably end up as a dust collector after we are done with the car. I don’t want to scrap it if I don’t have to. It’s it worth holding onto in order to sell?

Not worth a damn thing! Hard sells. No one seems to want them. If you got $200 for it, that would be good. That being said, Id keep it if its a good runner. I would tune it up, change the oil and pull it. Roll it under the workbench. Seems like a sin to just chuck a good running engine. Plus you got all the extra room now! Id save it for a future project.

Having bought a couple of them('68-'70), I would say yes.

Leave it in the car when you scrap it. You'll have no issue finding another one if you ever need to.

Anything is a pretty low bar. I went to pick up a 350 crankshaft a few years back and got the block and heads for free. Is it worth the effort is a different question to me. Given I have a block and heads that I'm willing to give away for free, probably not.

Pretty sure it’s untouched. I’ll get a pic later up close. This is all I have at this point..

It's worth something to someone. If you can show it runs and holds water at temp it's worth more than being unknown.
If you were in MI I would take it.

I search every so often for a running Buick 350. They don't come up often for sale near me.

I could use one for my wagon but I'm not able to afford one at the moment.

I wouldn't pitch it. Everything has a value.

Being a 70, most likely has the shorter deck height too.
Parts are worth something. Dist, oil pan, crank, blk, timing cover if good condition., etc.

They're not highly sought after, but to echo Jason, my inner hoarder couldn't toss a running engine and sleep at night. But then I couldn't toss the 2 350's in my barn that aren't currently running, so maybe I'm the wrong guy to ask.

$100 to $200 more if its running. They get no respect!

Why not keep it on an engine stand. Clean it up and do a re ring kit from Northern Auto Parts. Then if you ever need a good 350 swap the heads for TA alum and a good cam.

Well, even though I have a fresh 35x56 shop, I'd hate to start clogging it up with things that aren't going to move any time soon. It will remain here in the parts car if anyone needs a 350. I'm pretty sure it was running before I tore the front end off. Coolant looked really clean and was full. Gas is a little stinky, but the gas these days doesn't last long.

Pat, are you interested in the intake?

It's really uglier than I thought, Pat. I'm not going to even post pics. It's full of surface rust.

  20. Thanks for your time!
