This dealer is usually very high with pricing. As small as the 66 GS community is someone may know this car. https://www.carrollstauto.com/details/used-1986-buick-skylark-grand-sport/64259404
I know that car. It was sold new at Tomko Buick (long gone) in the town where I live, Ironton OH. I have seen it several times in the original owners garage. Jimmy Shields, or however his name is spelled, bought it from the original owner. Funny thing, the original owner and his brother bought new 66 GS's from the same dealer. The other one was a red 4 speed car, I never saw it as it was sold long before I heard about the white car. I do not remember if the brothers bought them at the same time. The white car did not come with the chrome rocker covers and air cleaner, the owner saw the chrome ones in the display case at the dealer parts counter and bought them and installed them himself. Besides the chrome pieces anything that was changed from original, as the new seat covers, was done by Jimmy. It really is as good as it looks.
A beautiful example, thanks for the background Mike! The 340 hp Q-jet option required the automatic trans. Therefore, this one would be 325 hp with AFB carb.
Sounds like Jimmy traded this car for I believe a 1960 or so convertible. The new owner just called and said it’s very clean underneath and shared the same story as Mike above.
Wow. Strong $ for a '66 but if I really wanted one, I'd have considered it if it's as nice as it seems.
Damn I love 66 and 67 Buicks. All of them. 66 and 67 Riv's have one of the cleanest sexiest body's ever out of GM. 66 and 7 Skylark/GS's/Sport Wagons. Wildcats all of them. Love them.
Strong money for sure but it looks like a very nice car. Roland stated he had 3 hot prospects for the car.
I contacted the original owner, sent the link to his car at the dealer, he sent pictures of the car leaving with Jimmy. He didn't know Jimmy sold/traded it.
