I have a 66 switch pitch turbo 400 transmission and I want to use a Q-jet carburetor. Does anyone have the factory set up brackets and switch?
I have a carb that’s works with that linkage, brackets, and switch if you need a carb. It’s ready to go
Do you have pictures? What is the number on the carb? You say it is ready to go. Does that mean it has been rebuilt? Do you have the switch?
There are other options for controlling the SP. Bruce Roe makes a control box that does a very nice job. http://v8buick.com/index.php?threads/s-p-st-300-bruce-roes-electronic-controller.190075/
It was bought from Everyday Performance after it was rebuilt professionally and has run excellently on my engine in the past 2 years. Here is its thread: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/used-everyday-performance-1967-buick-750-quadrajet.354199/
Was this carb on your Riviera when you were racing it? The "air bleeds have been enlarged." What does that mean? My 66 Q-jet manifold is not for a divorced choke.
More bypass air is allowed into the engine, this helps bigger than stock cams idle easier. I put over 1500 street miles on the carb and only 16 1/4 mile passes, so racing it is a strong word haha.
Don’t know if you can enlarge this enough to see it but here’s how I mounted the switch on the 401 in my ‘50 Chevy with a Chevy style Q jet 0308B0B9-4265-4BC0-A122-FA9159F35ED8 by Lobucrod posted Apr 4, 2020 at 10:27
