Where can I purchase a GM OE-quality distributor cap and rotor these days? By "GM OE-quality" I mean brass terminals, etc. In fact, are genuine GM-Delco caps and rotors available any more? Thank you in advance for your help.
Dan, Visit your local napa.. PN - RR165 cap and RR 169 for the standard rotor, RR167o for the HP rotor.. I have used both. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/ECHRR165?partTypeName=Distributor+Cap&keywordInput=distributor+cap JW
The AC Delco C349 looks pretty good. 13.25 at Rock Auto. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1393077&cc=1379763&jsn=419&jsn=419 Pictures show brass terminals.
American made..... Brass contacts..... You can feel the difference between these caps and the cheapies....... Thanks guys for references! .
I run real GM NOS "ole skool" script caps on my cars. I run the Echelin HP rotors JW referenced, they are really nice. They are thick and very much like the old Accel rotors. If I had to guess, I'd guess they are/were made by the same people. The rotors have the "long" blade, and it's beefy. I'm a lot older than most people here. Around 1968 or 69, they changed the length of the blade and made it shorter. Those blades are marked with a letter (E?). They did that for static, or emissions, I forget now. Back in the day when I raced, everybody junked those shorter length rotors. Now, that's mostly all you get, and most people don't even know about it.
The USPS Priority Mail package from Stage One arrived safe and sound yesterday evening. As always, Todd's packaging skills resulted in well protected contents. The cap looks like a high-quality piece. Thanks for coming through, Todd.
