On May 10th, my wife, Jennifer and I have been together for 35 years. For that length of time, she has put up with one obsession of mine, or another. First music, I have over 5000 records. Then computers, one of my work friends who helped move us remarked that "It's like moving Radio Shack. " I moved onto drones, quite expensive hobby. Now, it is my Wildcat. I have, in the past year, poured 8000 into my car. Only now, when we paint it, will anything show. I did mechanicals first. My latest, she bought me an RC truck, $500. The dog loves to chase it around the dog park. What is next, I don't know. What I do know, my wife will support this obsession as well. No wonder I truly love her, as much or more than I did 35 years ago. I am truly blessed by my wife.
I'ts great to have a bestest friend and wife in one package. Very good there are more like us still out there. Me and mine are 26 years in
Met the wife in 85. got married in 91. She made the statement a while back that I havent changed a bit (Not as a complement). Wear the same clothes, have the same hobbies and interest ect. My response was waddya expect? Congrats! Takes a lot to make it that long with the same person in todays world.
July 24 we will have been married 49 years and yes we have grown closer over the years. She too, has put up with me and all my obsessions over the years. The GSX you see in my post was a year old when we drove it to our wedding. I am a lucky man to have found her, my wife not the GSX! Jim
You don't REALLY know how lucky ALL you guys are!! I had two failed attempt's with one girl & three boys. I'm close to my last two boys & we spend time together quite often. Each put me back at LEAST ten years. It's been 33 years since the last one.
Congratulations are in order, lucky you that she supports you with all those changes.By the way, next February will be 60 years for us.Before I had the garage built,I did store all kind of parts in my basement, including full engines and transmissions.Lucky me also.Bruno,
Thank you all for your kind words and congratulations. And to all of you, well, maybe not Tom, congratulations as well. And to Bruno, your diamond anniversary. In today's world of disposable marriages, you two are a shining beacon to the rest of us. My wife is, in addition to tolerating my obsessions, my best friend in the world. Right now we are helping take care of our Grandchildren, Aria (2 years 10 months), and Luke (6 months). I forgot how hard it is to take care of a baby and toddler. I guess I had more energy when I was in my 20's. Luke spends the night with us since Mommy has some health issues (not COVID-19) right now. He has figured out that to wake Gampy, just kick him.... 5 or more times a night. I wouldn't change it for the world though. I am truly blessed to have them live in the next Condo to ours.
Congratulations! Marriage is so great when you get it right! We are coming up on our 40th anniversary in September.
Congrats, sounds like you have a wife that understands your stuff is IMPORTANT My wife just rolls her eyes when I tell her "Im gonna do this" I love her anyway
Congratulations. Married my Rachael in 91 and she's the best. Spoils me, never nags, cuts the grass and paints. She takes good care of me. Mikey
Congrats to all of you. We just completed 51 years here in Texas and Dianne knew I was a car guy when she met me since I was driving a 1957 Chevy 2 dr hdtp. She enjoys thr pre-war 1930’s cars but puts up with my 1960’s passion for Buicks. Now I have to tell her I just bought a 1969 Riviera. Best part about a great marriage is it normally leads to neat kids and wonderful grand children which makes life's ups and downs worthwhile. Y’all stay well and safe and have a great weekend
