Once you get one and have it restored, I made up the stamp to put the 2-letter codes on the 1969 37 amp alternators. I can loan it to you if you want. Just make sure you do a couple of test runs before using it, otherwise it makes a mess. Also it is much easier to do before you put it on the car. Don't ask how I know. You will also need to clean the paint off the "letters" before it dries, so it will be ready for the next usage. I used a little lacquer thinner and it worked well. If I remember, I will take a pic of the finished part so you can see how it looks when done. Duane
Thanks Duane! That would be great. I'm slowly making progress. Fred, I look forward to what you may have. Best regards, Mike
Thanks Brett, I saw that one. The 55 amp for $30 also on EBAY seems like a deal for someone. The J is just a little too early imo. Want an L or M. Does Steller do both starters and alternators? Take care, Mike
Hi Duane, "VA" on your alternator above signifies the 37amp? I couldn't find the info in the 69 Motion thread. Sorry for so many questions. :-0 Best regards, Mike
Those pics are from that thread. The "VA" code is for a 1100761 37 Amp alternator, which is correct for my 69 Non-AC car. And to be totally correct, as I have been told by several people, the code is supposed to be on the front part of the housing like shown in the pic above with the "BD" code. I made my own stamp for this. I knew the size letters from the assembly manual and then cut out the letters from a piece of gasket material. Then glued them to a small block of wood, and there you are. Real high tech, and very expensive to make. Duane
