My 69 Stage 1 4-speed , that I am restoring was originally the lime mist green poly also, but I have seen different versions of, especially if one was painted with old lacquer, vs a base coat clear coat style. It changes the shine and depth of the color. But in the end the only one who has to like the color, is the one who paid for it and is driving it.
Paint formulas change by the year. 69 Lime Mist is waaaaaay different than Lime Mist for 71. 69 is same as Chevy's "frost" green, same color code but different name. Those are a muted silvery green, whereas the Lime Mist for 1971 is garish, gaudy, almost Moparish(if that's a word) Pontiac also used that color in 71, but they called it Tropical Lime. I have owned both a 71 GS and a 71 GTO in that green. I also owned a beautiful 14k mile original paint 69 Special. Way, way different color. My 2 cents worth, do not use the Jeep paint, use the original Buick color. You may have zero intention of ever selling your car, but in the event of a fire sale, non original colors can be a deal killer. Hard to find a person sometimes that likes the color you picked. IMHO
My long gone now but factory paint lime mist car. I did ditch the “army truck green seats” for white though
I new there were different versions from different years, I was talking about the same color for the same year, but painted with different styles of paint....
That's great - I'm not that good @ photoshop although I have an old version. I'd love to that to a pic and see what a couple of my projects would look like done.
