So I’ve tore the bearings out of 2 new advanced auto water pumps on my rebuilt somewhat nasty 69 430 motor .. any good products out there thanks in advanced
Any chance your pulleys are bent, or something (fan) out of balance? Are the belts lining up? Maybe try a Gates. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...cid+v8,1021431,cooling+system,water+pump,2208
Its just the alt belt . I’ve watched it run and looked at it from every angle Larry it looks straight ..
Double check the fan and the tension on the belt. I once was angry and indignant about ‘cheap ass bullsh1+ water pumps!’;went through three from Advance and a Delco before replacing my fan on a 403 Trans Am. Patrick
I did put a new clutch On a 7 blade fan .. the belt seems tight and I can’t turn the alt pulley by hand .. I’ll double check it all again thanks bud
I think mine was a carter...still doing ok...just change/refresh your coolant at least every other year...
Hugh update ... I found the old /original clutch and coupled it to a new T/A performance water pump .. problem seems to be solved but I really haven’t done the insane sleeper take off when you creep er up to 10 mph grab the gate and pull hard .. let off and ignite em both again ..
Just the simple stuff .. small bore with pistons .. cam up slightly with big valves .. original Q jet with points .. I’ll say I like old school bragging to give up a few horses .. I’m happy with the performance
