Well, my 1970 GS455 convertible is finally sold. And the new owner took all of my Buick "stuff" with it. So it's an end of an era for me.

I just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been dealing with the Buick community. A person couldn't ask for a better bunch of guys and gals to spend time with and enjoy a hobby with.

The car is actually going to be heading to Germany to be representing Buick. The person that bought it works for VW and is here in the states temporarily and will be heading back home next year with the Buick in tow.

Thanks again to everyone for all the help over the years. And I wish everyone well and good luck with their Buicks. Go Fast With Class!

Congrats Phil. Hope to see you on the board in the future.

Thanks again for checking out the motor for me a few years ago. It’s in the car and running great. Buick guys are the best!

Smart guy he is. I missed that opportunity when I returned to Germany many moons ago. So I had to pay mucho pesos to get my GS here. Did you mention the board to him. His car will be the second convertible in Germany, I know of. So it would be nice to get in contact.
Congrats to your sale and like the others said already, say hi once in a while.

Bitter-sweet moment to watch that car drive away. In the end it's just steel, rubber, glass and other odd stuff. It's the memories and friends that matter most. Don't be A stranger.

Congrats. Someone got what was IMHO a great deal. If I'd have had the time/$ I'd have paid you a visit. Don't be stranger. Maybe get a nice "done" Buick just to cruise? Hard to kick the addiction.

Stick around, Phil. Do not just fade away. It must be 25 years since I visited you and purchased some glass from you. You also gave me some fire dept items - plastic fire helmets, colouring book, etc. - for my grandchildren. It was a pleasure meeting you then and still a pleasure knowing you.

    Hi everybody,
I am the proud new owner of Phil's convertible. I am since two years in this board and found my 1967 Riviera also with the help of the board here.
I was overwhelmed about all the details Phil could tell about his car, about the ton of literature and all the rare find parts which came with the car.
For the next year I will enjoy the car in wonderful Tennessee ;) before we and both Buicks are going back to Germany. I was on the fence of selling the Riv for the GS, but you guys are right, there is always a tiny space in the Garage for another Buick. :)

Thanks Phil for this nice car!

Hey Wernersen, you got a great, solid car. Thought I'd pass along a bit of history on it. I sold this car to Phil about 20 years ago, can't remember the exact year but it was right around 2000. It came to me from Austin, TX. Anyway, the guy I bought it from had owned it for quite a while but just got out of prison after 7 years on a weed possession charge. TX didn't play around back then. He was in need of some cash to get his life back in order and all he had was this GS. I towed it back to Georgia, fiddled with it a bit, and sold it to Phil so that I could fund a GSX restoration. I always regretted not holding on to it because it was so original and unique. It remains the only burnished saddle GS455 convertible I have seen with pearl white buckets and a/c.

    Enjoy your car!

Brian, did you ever take it to the GS Roundup or subsequent BOP Events the Atlanta GS Club put on in Commerce? I went three years I think, and may have seen it there. I have pictures somewhere from them.

Hey Brian, Phil mentioned something like that. I will keep the combination of Burnished saddle outside an pearl inside when I restore it. the only open color question is the top, its black now but I think I will put a bright colored top on it. not sure on the specific color tho.

Patrick, I did not. During the time I had it the motor needed a rebuild and Phil was aware when he purchased it. I didn't drive it anywhere.
