Hey everyone! It's the new year, with a new set of trials and travels. We (Rosaline and I) have reached our new milestone: 694000 MILES! So, how many have you reached on yours? Any big number-daily guys here?
Thats an amazing feat for any car to last that long. Your pushing 14k average miles a year over a 50 year car life; sounds like a long commute? Your garage pictures show car in nice shape; congrats on all the love and maintenance over the years... What has kept you in the same car for so many years? I'm thinking most of us would have gone through 7 or 8 vehicles in that period!
So, she has been in the family for a long time. The maintenance on her is sort of a rule. It is as follows: Oil Change every 2000 miles(not a mile more) Washed at least 2x a week Every chassis part gets greased and inspected monthly Waxed every single month All doors, windows get inspected and cleaned and greased every month as do the locks Every 25000 she gets a transmission fluid change Never driven her without warming her up VERY VERY protective and choosy about who gets to drive her.(You get a lecture about the "rules") lol She isn't garaged most of the time, but she seems to be ok. A lot, I know. But, to be fair, I do treat this car better than I do myself, and my family has followed these rules for years. She has alot of memories. Definitely priceless to me.

I've had mine for half of my life (17 years) and have put about 32,000 miles on it in that time. That included some summers where it didn't get driven at all (young and no money), and others that I daily drove it (also young and no money). Only 6 months or so of opportunity a year to drive it around here, due to the salt and snow that winter brings. I've improved some things over the years slowly on it, here's the first picture I have of it and the one of the last pictures I took from this past fall: @1970BlackBird it's really cool you're able to and do daily drive the car like that! At first glance at you're mileage I missed a 0, that's really impressive and great that the car is still going strong, thanks for keeping it going!
That is an amazing color! Beautiful machine! Thank you, I really appreciate it. Hopefully another 50 years together! What color is that?
Thanks! Yes I plan to keep mine for the rest of my life. And it's actually plasti dip in the "ironman" theme. The colors change or shift, depending on the lighting or angle. I really love breaking up the color on the bigger car and really enjoy being able to enjoy the car without much worry, with the low cost of plasti dip.
