The headlight bezels were painted the correct color. Unfortunately, the judge that day deducted a point for the car being “over restored” since the top of the headlight bezels under the hood did not have yellow overspray on them he took one point off. No, it was not corrected as it wouldn’t have mattered. The car was concours judged three times, with mostly the same judging crew each time. It scored 398 each time - none of the items that were “wrong” were never deducted twice, and none were ever “corrected”.
Anybody see this? I can’t link the Mecum price but another site says $60k. For a ‘75 LeSabre 350 convertible. https://www.classic.com/veh/1975-buick-lesabre-custom-convertible-W9JVPLp/ Patrick
Hi All, I am new to the group, I was the individual to buy this bittersweet beauty. I guess I am glad it didn’t hit the $60k number. Let me assure you, Mecum will make it close to that number. The cost to bid in person is 10%, the cost to bid on the telephone or net is 12%. So the price they list is $46,200, the bid price was $42,000, they tacked on 12%, so the real cost was $47,050. Shipping to Texas was another $1500. Of course this doesn’t cover the cost of tax, title, tax other miscellaneous fees. I am closer to $52,000. I am not complaining, but it is pretty expensive. I would have rather bought privately, but if nothing is in your geographic area you move on. The car is mostly complete, it needs a few things that I have discovered because of this great forum. The intake is incomplete and there is a crack on the tail lights, and a few other annoying things. But ultimately, she is a numbers matching true TS coded 71 Stage 1, and I am great full to finally get one. Thanks all!
Nice! Welcome and rest assured it's a lot cheaper than trying to find an old rusty one and put that into shape...
Congratulations that’s one fine looking stage one. Sounds like you’re on your way to making it even better.
