I MAY have the heads milled, that depends on where my ratio ends up after I receive the heads and cc the chambers/ I MAY go that route, The Right Stuff should do it
Some new pictures from the my machinist. He fully disassembled the heads. He’s very impressed with the quality of TA’s work on these heads. He has seen other well known manufacturers heads be so lacking in attention to detail and quality. Valve seats are perfect and concentric with valve guides and porting is very well done. His only concern is the exhaust rocker not dead center on valve stem, an easy fix he said. I believe it’s due to the exhaust valve centerline moved to make room for bigger intake valve. A great way to start the new year Buick Porn. Hopefully nothing gets in the way of being on track for spring. Will keep updating progress for those who are interested.
Update Heads were fully inspected and are now being reassembled. Rocker arm misalignment corrected. He made custom shims/spacers. Exhaust rocker was .120” off center. Next he’s installing the cam valley pan shield, final honing the cylinders and decking the block. I attached pictures of the rocker arm alignment.
Although TA said it wouldn't be an issue & they're probably correct, it just wouldn't feel right. I agree with you & would (will) want them centered.
I would think the rocker should be over center so the load is even across the roller. That is a lot of pressure going up and down a billion times
Latest update last mod to the block completed only thing left is final deck and cylinder hone. I know it’s moving kinda slow, but the snow here in NY also slowed him down.
My machinist is a former NHRA pro stock builder. Started his career with Bill Jenkins 50+ years ago. He builds every motor he does as if it’s going into a race car. Talking to this man is amazing and he has some stories. He’s taught me a lot and I thought I knew something LOL!
Grumpy Jenkins, saw him race @ Detroit Dragway years ago.... There's a grumpy guy on here with a hot 350 by the name of Fox. I call him professor.
I met “Grumpy” at The GM car show at Carlisle PA. I bought a die cast replica of his 67 Camaro. When I asked him to take a picture of him signing I realized why they call him grumpy.
Looking good! Take yer time, no rush, cold and snow here in Ohio too, actually dont mind it, forces me to slow down and chill
