Hi, my name is Gunter. I hope my english is good enough. Since 5 month I am an Owner of a Buick LeSabre from 1970. It is a convertible and has an 350 SB engine. The trany is changed to a 200R4 and it has a 9" Ford rear end with a auburn diff. It was located in Canada before.
Of all the times i visited Germany, I never saw an old Buick. Have fun down the autobahn.. How far from your house till you can get to the unlimited speed limit?
The are really noth very much Buicks here in Germany. Most of them are skylarks and rivieras. For a ride on an unlimeted autobahn I have to drive around 30 miles. But I have not tested it. In the moment it is very cold and the Goodrich tires are not good for higher speed. For higher speed I have a Mustang Mach 1 from 69, with a very good running 351, I thing about 350HP and it has tires for higher speed.
Well then you're actually closer to me. A welcome on this board from the Netherlands (close to the German border)
Willkommen aus Bayern. I admire guys who drive a full size car here in Germany. Sometimes I feel my GS is already to big for the roads here.
Most modern full size Mercedes, Audi and BMW are bigger than a little A-body Buick from the 70's. And those German cars are all doing fine on the German roads.... BMW 7 Series: Length: 5219 mm/ 205.47 in Wheelbase: 3210 mm / 126.38 in 1970 Buick A-body: Length: 5136 mm / 202.2 in Wheelbase: 2845 mm / 112 in
Hi, and thanks for the nice greetings. Yes, the 200r4 ist very nice. In combination with the 350, with new 10:1 pistons and the camshaft from compcam it runs very well. I told you that I have a mustang and for that there a new parts no problem. Thats a little bit difficult for the buick, but ther e has to be a challange
