My son has had NO problems with the original GM lifters that had 30K on the engine when they got it & running the engine up to 7500 for 5 years now. Then again he HAD to change the valve springs because of the Roller Cam. Tom T.
Mark, I ran 38* for quite a while then detected a slight ping at low load driving in 4th. Dropped it back to 36* and ping is gone. Still runs just as hard... Probably on the edge.
My tube chassis camaro neighbor, as most, don't run an air cleaner. He doesn't have an AFR gage. He just reads his plugs and runs 9's.
Have no idea where GM gets their lifters. Delphi??? Remember this is a 2013-2014 6.0 GMC truck engine. Tom T.
Someone mentioned awhile back they wedge their cell phone in between the head rest and seat back, but it flops outta position. I may just buy a Go Pro, they're pretty neat to have anyway
That is the first place to look when the engine lays down, even a bit. I know how hard it is to look during a pass. Sean's suggestion to use a camera is a good one.
I know my car isn’t lightning quick but halfway thru a pass is 7 seconds as it stands now, my eyes don’t focus that quick anymore
Wouldn't have to worry about the ole eyes with a camera. At 75 I have the same problem on trying to focus on some things. Tom T.
I would think if your fuel pump is lagging behind.......it wouldn't all of sudden get back up ahead. If it went flat and stayed flat I can see that. But once your draw exceeds max flow, its not going to start going the other way......especially seeing your halfway through the pass.....the roms are only going up from there which means the demand for more fuel also goes up.
Did you see the oil pressure gauge at the top of a gear I always take a look if I see 70 all is good. I bet you have too many gauges in there like Guy does and you can't see them all. At least that is what Mart says lol. Get the trans to shift at 6500 and you won't have to worry about the tach
Could be the problem I use an electric fuel pump with returns the only drawback is it could die on the rd.
I put the proper lid on the air cleaner, and reset the float level in the primary bowl. When I put the AED back on a few weeks ago, the primary level was covering the sight glass, don’t know why, so I reset it, when I checked it again yesterday it was barely visible thru the sight glass, right at the bottom, so I raised the float to bring level to mid point on the sight glass like it was last year…… no issues last year
