HI Guys, Have a 68 GS 400 Convertible. top functions properly pretty much but when its being raised the right side goes up first then the left catches up. I see air in the lines but cant seem to get them bled out and not sure i am even filling the motor correctly. Any ideas on how to correct that issue? And how to properly fill and bleed the lines? Thanks
Whatever you do, be sure not to over fill the pump. I filled it to the bottom of the fill plug hole and it blew out the seal between the reservoir and motor housing, causing a huge mess on the shelf at the bottom the top well. The ATF also damaged the nearly new rear plastic window. It is now filled with just enough ATF that it doesn't cavitate when in use.
I can’t figure this out to save my life. Motor is hooked up. There is fluid in the lines. I have small air bubble not allowing me to lower the top. I have tried bleeding it out, using a seal and line to a bottle. Nothing seems to work. Any help would be great. The video didn’t give the best info and I can’t find it in the manual. Any tips greatly appreciated
i installed all new cylinders and lines. they seemed to fill up well, but cant get them to retract. ill give them a call tomorrow. thank you.
I believe fluid should go into the bottom of the cylinders to raise the top and into the top of the cylinders to lower. You may still have air in the system. Those folks should be able to help. I'm no expert, just had a few convertibles in my lifetime.
Well that was fun. One of the cylinders was locked up so it wasn’t creating lift, and just flowing thru the system. Got it working, after disconnecting it draining and reconnecting! Made some nice new tears in the top as it went down, lol so after summer looks like I’ll be putting a new on one.
