I just pulled the 350 engine from my GS this weekend. It's a decent running engine with a couple small issues but is ready to run. I pulled the engine only for a swap. What I know about the engine: 1. It is a PO block which is a 9:1 compression ratio engine from '68 2. Was installed in my 72 GS in 1995. I am not sure if anything was done with the engine in that swap but it was installed by a repair shop so they may have gone through it. (My original engine was destroyed by the first owners 16 year old son who ran it off road and knocked the oil pan off... and then drove it home) 3. It has good oil pressure and I have never had any major problems with it in the 10 years I've owned it. 4. It was power timed this past summer and it smokes my wide tires like you'd expect Known issues: #1 cylinder has a small exhaust leak at the manifold. It appears the top portion of the gasket has blown out.... it has been like this for years. #2 one of the bolt heads for the water neck on the intake is missing/sheared off. #3 could probably use a new set of valve cover gaskets (doesn't leak) #4 the 2 barrel carb fuel inlet has been rethreaded (doesn't leak) Slap a 4 barrel intake and carb on this engine and let it go....It is a complete engine minus the fan and clutch as well as the power steering pump and AC compressor. (those are going on my 455) $200, looking for somebody local (SW Florida) to get this as I can not ship it. Hoping to keep it in the Buick family. Would also be willing to trade in part or completely for: A 71 or 72 455 fan shroud, 455 air cleaner assembly, front bench seat cover (prefer white but I could stain it if needed). Let me know if you have any questions about the engine or my location, I am north of Sarasota Florida. EDIT: I will also throw in a functional 72 GS 350 fan shroud and engine frame pads with this sell. Thanks
Hey Ryan, My son says he wants it, but he can’t come this weekend because he’s going to be out of town. He can come next weekend for sure though. Thank you, John
PS…. You have a whole slew of Buick people over on your side of the state. I hope you get to meet them. Everyone I have met is flat out awesome!
Thanks John, you are in line for it and Dave will be second if you pass. John, I have been to a couple of the meet-ups and they are a great bunch!
Good morning Ryan, I got your PM along with your phone number. I will have my son get in touch with you. He might be able to get it out of your way sooner. I’m going to attach an email flyer from the guy that runs the Auburndale Florida BOPC show. We had a real good group of Buicks there last year. My son and I drive up from West Palm Beach with our cars. Steve, a.k.a. Briz drove down from Lake City. And quite a few local people on your side come to the show also. I’ll bug you as time gets closer. ATTACH=full]571513[/ATTACH]

Hey Guys, thanks for all that info, I will check it out. John your son Scott and his buddy came out yesterday and picked up the engine. I'll be interested in seeing what he does with it in the future, that engine already has an interesting story behind it. He got a free 350 fan shroud and engine stand out of it that I don't think he was expecting lol. Take care and thanks again for helping clear some space in my garage.
