Our GSX has alot of it's original paint. Even though it has some Knicks, dings, and scratches, I have been wanting to see what I can do with the paint. I spent about 4 hours today on just the passenger side....
In the order as listed on bottles. I start by cleaning the surface with a good quality clay bar. Make sure you use the appropriate pad with each product. I use wool for step 1, dark grey or black foam for step 2, and light blue foam for step 3.
Thanks. I have wondered what would happen if I wet sanded a mat stripe. Would it take out stains and put it back as it should be??
I felt sure they would gloss with a polish, what I am wondering is if I simply wet sanded them and left them dull would they look right. I am afraid to try it because I don't want to have to restripe but it doesn't keep me from wondering. BTW, this idea is not for a Buick but rather for a 2012 Mustang that has stripes.
The GSX looks great and it's cool that it retains a lot of its original paint. I really like these since I was a model car hobbyist in a previous lifetime. Did you make them? If you ever have a minute I'd love to see a closer photo. Very creative!
Yes, I had a friends wife in my shop one day ask how I put these cars together, to which I replied "Just like building a model car!" So, I decided I needed some parts trees hanging around.
That's funny, my dad has said that to me for decades when he speaks about restoring cars "just like building a model car!"
