Hello forum, I am having issues with this installation of timing chain gear set! I have purchase 3 timing chain sets (returned them) and kept this last one ! This engine is a standard bore , 455 sf block and I was cleaning it up with new internals but can’t seem to figure out why this sprocket will not like up with camshaft bolt holes ! Any ideas or recommendations( advice )? Also , I’m trying to get this information about the camshaft from board member I purchase this engine from .Camshaft has these numbers on the front of this pic I am uploading . Thanks
I am not sure if a standard one lines up! I order two from O’Reilly ( with a different picture of the one they sent ) and I order this last one from summit racing with the sprocket I’m picture having 3 holes instead of two
Just finsh looking at camshaft again and it’s a Crane cam with number H-302-2. And on the side it has BB.6996! Any help identifying this csm is greatly appreciated!
Cloyes C-3083 is the correct part number according to Rockauto, https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinf...+yBQ3YzHeSozJtMvfy0FAuvEJw6ZAM5vV6SBSwFq4GQ== https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...9763,engine,timing+chain+&+component+kit,5756
Ok , Thanks for all the advice, suggestions, etc! This camshaft is a crane camshaft for a Chrysler ! . Thanks to everyone
No, that's a grind number, meaning several different camshafts share the same lobe profile and centerline. You've got a Buick cam, there something else going on with the gearsets you've been getting. Devon
