I just picked up a set of these vintage appearing M&H racemaster 800/8.50-14 slicks and a set of 14x6 YW code rally wheels to mount them on. I figured it would kinda keep with the whole period correct, stock appearing theme of BSA. Likely overkill on my (hopefully) 13 second car, but I think they will at least look mean. Edit: slicks are mounted and fit perfectly. I put a few passes on them and they are plenty for my almost bonr stock car. Also got to see just how much bigger the 67 trunk is over my 72 Skylark. 2 slicks, a full size spare, 80lb floor jack and tools fit with no problem at all. Now I just need to make a few tweaks to get this car in the 13s with these taller tires and the stock aircleaner in place.
Good morning racers! I have a great update! CARS has signed on as a sponsor of our class, generously contributing gift cards totaling over $1400 to our winners. They are sponsoring the winner with $400, runner up with $250, third with $150, fourth with $100, fifth with $75, and sixth to 16th with $50 each. Thank you!! In addition we have commitments from Molo Petroleum to sponsor us again, along with several contributions from current and past racers and friends. Thank you to everyone who is sponsoring our fun! See y’all next week! Patrick
Will there be a problem with class rules if I use pre cut number stickers on the windshield for my car numbers? Planning on using my NHRA comp number instead of the GSCA number. Will look like these on the old Regal
Briz and I discussed this earlier and agreed that, although there’s no rule about it, shoe polish looks more in line with the ‘spirit of the class’, i.e. factory built street cars being run in stock appearing trim. Patrick
Perhaps "thinking too much..." As Paul noted in the last X-tra, there is "technically" no difference between 3rd and 4th... Perhaps go by closest to dial in???
You’re right; we have to find a way to designate who’s ‘thirder’ versus ‘fourthier’. Your suggestion is a good idea. Thanks!!
I am bringing two windshield paint markers with me to the Nationals if anyone needs to borrow one. I usually always forget to bring one to the track.
