I've been a member here for years but haven't had a Buick since 1995. My first car in the early 80s was a 1968 Riviera bought for $50 with a rod knock (shocking I know). This led to a lifetime love of Buicks and through the years I owned a lot. Seven Rivieras and four Skylarks. The one I just picked up is the best one yet. 1968 Riviera with 75k on it. California car, total survivor. Far from perfect but it's a driver and it's the perfect project for me to play with and enjoy. I can't even begin to describe how good it feels to have this car under my care. I've already begun the endless process of making it better and taking care of it. Cleaned up all the mildew it had inside, removed the crappy 90s radio and put gauges in their place, picked up a set of nice Rally wheels with turbine caps (wheels are still in the garage), ordered wheel cylinders and rubber brake hoses. Worst part of the car is the front bumper, I'll be needing a replacement for that but it's passable for now.
Looking good. Big Riv fan and have mucho parts if needed. The front bumper can be fixed and rechromed. Tri City in Tenn does a great job. Had 5 done there.
Tri City is actually the name. Or at least when I had mine done.. Mine was done about 20 years ago by Tri City and it was $5oo+. Now for a Riv bumper probably double that. Beautiful Riv btw.
I crashed into the front of mine with moms lawnmower. Doh! Stupid hydro trans and me not knowing how to drive it. Anyway that one was around 1200$. I think its closer to 1500 now. If you can pick up and deliver you'll save 3-400$'s You are correct. My bad
Nah, can't change the name. That '69 Skylark will always hold a special spot in my heart. Miss it very much. Rivieras were my first love though.
