Getting a late start on this car…had a brand X butt in line that turned into an albatross of a project. Finally wiping the 72 layers of rustoleum and bondo off…. Thankfully good quarter panels have been provided. Bumpers are off to the chromer. Should be a nice driver when complete.
This pic reminds me of my car's quarters. In some spots there was 5/8" thick filler. Oh boy....have fun sanding!
Oh Lord. You are a brave soul taking on the big cars. The tearout of previous stuff was almost too much for me, but once started, no stopping. The block sanding after is another matter in and of itself. Devon
Both quarters are fitted up for the most part. Still some prep to do. Also right side outer wheel house and trunk drop are going to need some work before I stick these on.
Wow. Today is the first time seeing this thread. I knew the mud on the 1/4's was thick but not that much! Also had no idea there was damage on the R front "eyebrow" Canada car. This one was featured in a thread by #crazychevy about 4-5 years ago. I believe he took a vert and a hardtop to make one car. Seems like his build thread is MIA
I know your pain. The least favorite part of my project, but the extra effort at this point is absolutely necessary. Devon
Yes...it'll be nice to shoot something white for once. All these dark and metallic colors make my head spin.
