Needing to run new fuel lines after ripping out EFI! Got a rebuilt quadrajet from everyday performance. Was wondering what kit you guys find best for the 5/16 supply and 1/4 return? Also who supplies the line from the pump to the carb? Thanks Ryan
Depends on your engine. I was told that a 3/8 feed line is good to 500hp, but that is about it. Guessing I would imagine a 5/16 would work ok up to 400?
Inline tube has it: https://www.inlinetube.com/products...6e08cd7450cbbdddc64c6cf2e8891f6d48747c6d56d2c This is for the factory style mechanical pump, of course.
You have to be very specific with Inline about the lines you need. 67GS has convertible frame (boxed). I knew this and was specific and they still sent regular lines. they were cool and simply sent on the correct line. SO just make sure you talk with someone .
I found the supply and return from ecklers.. as of the line from the pump to carb i think I’m going to use a ptfe coated and braided black line with the AN fittings.. Ryan
Im just telling my opinion... When I changed my Steel 5/16 to Steel 3/8 the body was off the frame... It was a piece of cake but still a PITA... Now I got to do it again this time car on frame... I will be using a flexible type hose in.....
Ask the sales boy what he drives........ he a sales boy he has no clue what the part actually looks like.... Truth I bought a part for my buick from a buick store. I tried dealing with their POS sales boy telling him after received the that it does NOT fit my car.., Finally got a hold of the owner The owner made it square.....,
Well if you were to run flexible line like your saying would you run something like hotrod fuel lines? The ptfe coated with the compression fittings?
I'm a fan of push lock hose but some people don't trust it. All my lines are solid, I bought the 3/8 feed and stretched a 1/4" return line by hand.
I would definitely not run a 5/16" feed line. Any big block or performance small block should have a 3/8" line. Greg
Ok I held off on the ecklers fuel lines. Want to get some opinions on here on what people run for fuel lines besides steel lines… i would like to run steel lines along the factory spot but if doing that with body on frame is a nightmare then I’m open to flexible lines.. anyone done this? Ryan
ALL 3 of my 67s are 5/16 fuel supply lines cars. All 3 are 300 skylarks out of the factory ..... 1 lark has AC its the only 1 that has a return line.
I agree. Between three 66' Skylarks and my wife's 67' Skylark. All of them were V8s and all had 5/16" feed lines. None had return lines. When upgrading for performance I have just bought a roll of 3/8' hard line and bent up my own new line with my tube bender. You can then use the old 5/16" line for a return if it is still in decent shape. The tank pickups with the return line are very reasonably priced at Rockauto. Greg
