People have been wondering where to get it, so here is a picture of our 70-72 GSX dash emblem. It goes for $159 and is available at our website www.thepartsplaceinc.com
were 70-72 all the same? and how to retrofit a skylark dash pad? Is it a simple remove old and glue on / snap in / fasten the new GSX emblem?
Shane, It's too bad The Parts Place didn't take the extra effort to chrome plate the lettering around the "GSX" letters, the outline of the emblem and the "By Buick" as they were when new. I bet you could have sold a ton if they were concours correct ( I would have even bought one as a spare!).
Brad, Adding the chrome to those is actually very easy. If you ever want a spare, or an old one touched up.....Just send it my way and I will take care of it for you. John
Is that offer open to everyone? Cuz I have a gsX emblem that needs touching up. If so, what's a ball park price? Thanks, Mark
John, I just purchased a dash emblem from the parts guys...How can you make this proper for me? Can I mail it to you? How much would it it cost? My cell # is 678-859-6976. I livein Atlant, GA. Thanks. Greg
>>Hi Shane, Is this a new batch of GSX emblems or something? I bought one from The Parts Place two years ago and it was not the correct silver - instead it was black with the words By Buick in silver. What was the deal with this?
I have the original one in my dash and of course it is showing 37 years of age and wear and wondering if I should try and restore it or what .
Here's a shot of the original dash emblem in my 70. It doesn't have the chrome highlight around the perimeter. I guess it could have gotten wiped off over the years, but the other chrome highlighted letters are intact still. o No:
