Without more one must be cautious about the stage 1 origin claims. It is hard to believe it does not need to be bored. It is not worth anything extra unless it can be reunited with the donor car. When there is no price listed and blind bids are solicited, all too often sellers have unrealistic expectations.
I spoke with a friend today who called about it. Said VIN was hard to read, but SS code was visible. C (something) date code on block. Motor is allegedly complete, ready to install. Seller has found a car to put it in which is pretty rusty. He's talking in the neighborhood of $15k as a package.
Not for nothing - and I understand that a lot of times those stampings were applied haphazardly BUT even a partial deciphering could mate it up with its original carcass. Just saying....
