    Hi folks,

Currently need to replace trunk lid. How many (Chinese?) manufacturers are there? I've heard the Goodmark brand, licensed by GM, is not that great. Tamaraz has 2 brands; one more expensive than the other, and neither one is marked "Goodmark."

Prefer an original used one but they are getting rare.

    Thanks!

I would get a used one. Most cars that wound up in yards had front end damage - rather than rear end. Also the lid fits other cars - 68 to 72 Chevelle and 70 - 72 Monte Carlo. So there are plenty out there. Am surprised the repro houses even thought they could make money reproducing them.

For sure, a good used one is best. But they are getting scarce. The Northern ones are rusted and many/most of the Southern rust-free ones have the lock punched out of the rear, causing damage that is not worth fixing.

Yes, fits all the cars you mention PLUS the Grand Prix.

Seems to be at least 2 Chinese suppliers, and maybe 3. The Goodmark, licensed by GM, I don't believe is the best. At least, I've heard stories that it is hard to fit and has "issues."

I have used a repo trunk, i'm not sure who was the actual vendor I bought it used. I was happy with the end result.
since chevelle's uses the same trunk and a few other models luckily for our buick's we can use them too.
Yes I would rather put on a good used original but if you have no choice put on a repo, then take your time finding a really nice original.

I have a good clean used one I got to have a spare for my GS. The car is gone and I have no need of it. I will sell it cheap to someone who needs it but don't know how to handle shipping. If you are not in a hurry I get to Monroe ,SC a couple times a year if that's close to you.

If the OP isn't interested, where are you located? Does it have holes for trim along the back edge?

    John,
I am not in a hurry. Not sure how close Monroe is to me but it's a small state. Let me know when you will be here next. Do you have a pic of outside and inside? Thanks to Everyone for your input!

Those trunklids are small enough to ship FedEx ground. I've done it.

Tried to send a PM but don't know to to do it on this new format. You could send me one or post the price publicly. I am guessing they will be more money than I can afford, tho I would love to have one.
