I was at a local car show yesterday about 60 cars
I had my 70 GS clone now my car is a 350 but the hood was closed so to a non Buick guy who knows whats under the hood and I was just in the vicinity but I wasn't the obvious owner to anyone. I heard two guys looking at it, I don't know if they were with a car or just spectators.
The one looks at my car and says to his friend "back in the day this was the only car that ever beat my GTX"
And he said with pure Buick respect. Not often we get what we know is true

I have my own kind of a Buick respect story to share.

At a car cruise/show here in Michigan, pulled in and parked it. Walked around for a while looking at what seemed like a sea of Chevelles, Mustangs and Chargers. As I'm heading back to my car, I see a number of people gathered around talking, pointing, admiring. One guy is talking to another and I see him point at me as I approach. He says to me, "Is this your Buick?" I respond, "yes." He says, "nice car" and walks away. So I go about doing my thing and about 2 minutes later I hear over the loud speaker, "I'm happy to announce that the Best of Show award goes to the owner of this beautiful 68 Buick Skylark!" I'm kind of standing there shocked so I walk up to this table full of large trophies and he hands me a 3-foot trophy. I thank him and he says, "that is a gorgeous car that you don't see enough of, and the simple fact that it's not damn Chevelle deserves a trophy all its own." :D
