Does anyone know what frame and engine mounts are required for this swap? SBC powered now, but not for long...
Factory 455 engine mounts are fine. Those cars came optional with 455s. Hopefully the SBC install didn't ruin anything on the frame.
You are correct, however finding factory 1972-74 Buick Century/Regal 455 frame mount pads is difficult. I have been looking for a pair of factory Big Block Century frame mounts for a while and have not located any yet. If someone does have a pair, pm me, I will buy them.
yes they are hard to find.if you want the 455 to sit and fit correctly you would need the frame mounts from a century or regal from 1973-74.the other way to make it work is to get the mounts from a electra lesabre or centurion with a 455 in it and cut the mount 3/8 inch lower.that also works.or drill holes and weld and fabricate.i have a set.
hello gsjohnny1. im rebuilding a 455 buick out of a 1973 and putting it into a 1975 buick regal. someone was nice enough to share this discussion you guys had from 2018. i need motor mounts to make this engine fit properly. is there any chance you can still make these mounts? thank you for your time.
