This is not on my Buick but my 72 chevelle I just converted the rear to a 373 posi, all new parts from J D Race. new lower control arms with sway bar all new bushings, same shocks and springs, same tires and wheels. why would i get a bad wheel hop while stomping the go pedal?
I just finished building a stout steel S-I heads for a friend's 70 GS,lightened to 3400 pds,put a set of air bags and a set of no-op bars, took it to Englishtown and the car ran `10.70 right off the trailer, this was in 1995.He wanted to do better, put a pair of adjustable upper control arms, went back to Englishtown and the car headed right for the wall.Any time you put something like that it has to be adjusted.Being new does not mean that it will work as it is.Bruno.
Tall springs or air shocks can cause wheel hop. Also tighten the arms under full weight to prevent any bind on the gromets. Wheel hop is not normal, at least in my experience.
I know you didn't, but I changed only rear springs and shocks once, then the wheel hop started on my 71 Skylark.
I have stock upper control arms with new oem bushings. But my shocks are Monroe load levelers,I'am thinking those stiff shocks my be the cause,I may remove the shocks and test
Yes, the TA ones are the best and easiest to install. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/no-hop-bars.81563/
Did it solve all wheel hop issues? I the QA1 brand,I have to tilt the pinion way up to align bolts to upper control arms,I will call the tech line monday.
We used to call them "traction bars" and they work. U get wheel hop because the rear axle assembly is twisting upward and forward and the traction bars reduce the movement. This really shows up when u have leaf springs.
Do you have rear crossmember braces? "Don't leave home without"em!!" https://www.opgi.com/chevelle/CH26429/ also UMI, Edelbrock, and many other versions.
