Another one of their eBay sales. Use the discount code PMOTORS17 to get $100 off a purchase of $400+. For example, that puts the total for 4 Cooper Cobra 245/60-15's at $396 shipped. Start your search here at their storefront and use the search box. http://stores.ebay.com/Discount-Tir...ub=7361854&_sid=8052644&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 There may be additional rebates available! see their main webpage: https://www.discounttiredirect.com/promotions
I bought the Cooper's on the white car via their eBay store. Got a pretty solid deal and they were on my doorstep in two days. But man, wish this promo was going on then!!! (And coincidentally, 245-60-15 cobras are what I bought. Been very pleased with them)
Walt I have 14" rally wheels on the 72 Suncoupe I recently purchased. But have a nice set of 15's I had purchased to put on my 66. I know they will fit on the Suncoupe. Which one's do you think would be better? Or would they be the same ride wise?
I only buy from Discount Tires Direct, always great service and fast delivery! So far I have purchased 5 full sets of tires from them and will purchase more in the future!
Last time I bought tires from my Truck, I used them. Great service and about $200 cheaper than in the store.
Todd, I prefer the 15's. They look better, and for the same outside diameter of tire, there is less sidewall height so they squirm around less during cornering. But a taller sidewall of a 14" may provide more cushion on rough roads for a smoother ride. But realistically, you probably couldn't tell the difference! There is also less selection of tires in a 14" size. I vote 15" wheels.
America's Tire/Discount Tire is awesome. All they do is tires, and well. They always rebalance every time. On major holidays they do the same discount but give you prepaid credit cards. Since we all have bills to pay, it works out the same. They obviously got their customer service thing down pat.
I bought BFG's for the GS from Discount Tire last year and I took them to Mavis Discount Tire and had the old tires removed and the new tires mount and balanced with new stems for less than $60.
Just ordered a set (4tires) of cooper 265 70R 17 10 ply road tires for the truck, they were $624 now deduct the $100 off coupon and the $50 mail in rebate that brings it down to $475! Wow what a deal for 10 ply truck tires and coopers too. Hopefully they work out good, time will tell. Keith
I'm probably due for tires since they are now about 8 years old. Anyone have recs for 18"? I have had Cooper, yokohama, bridgestone in recent years and haven't had any problems at all. I am very meticulous about maintenance, though, in the way of daily drivers. The tires I have now on the Skylark are Nexen.
If you're going to order more than one set you need to use different ebay and payapal accounts for the purchases in order to get the $100 rebate on all orders. I ordered two sets of Cooper Discoverers, one for my Rodeo Sport and another for the Rav4. No sales tax and $170 off both sets, can't beat that price!
Thanks for sharing this! I just bought a set of 225/70R16 Cooper Cobra Radial GT's for my 1971 Skylark Custom. I went into my local Discount Tire and showed them the online deal and they matched it. All 4 tires mounted and balanced for $423 out the door.
Both Discount Tire and the Tire Rack have a search function to find an installer near you: https://www.discounttiredirect.com/store-locator https://www.tirerack.com/content/tirerack/desktop/en/deliver_installation.html The Tire Rack page may even show the prices for the services.... just click on the business name. You can install your own tires onto bare rims, it just takes a little technique and muscle. But I don't think there is an easy way to take tires off of rims.
I'm glad this thread was started, but for a slightly different reason. I've long know that tires can dry rot long before the tread wears out. This is probably true for a lot of us that don't use our Buicks as daily drivers. As I was curious and reading, 10 years is absolute max, if you drive at all. 6 years is when the compounds are already dried out enough that you may need to look into new tires. So for me, I bought mine new in '09. I've probably driven less than 5k miles. But you can bet I'll be talking to my friends at America's Tire.
You must buy the Discount tires through Ebay in order to get the $100 price reduction. I understand it is paid by Ebay so you cannot get it from Discount Tire Direct. Here is the promotion: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?th...100-off-400-til-10-30-17.326405/#post-2731603
I went to my local Discount location this weekend, showed them the auction and they took $100 off the price instantly.
I know the local Discount Tire will take the $100 off, but I also saved $60 in sales tax by purchasing online.
