Just an interesting little tidbit I read this morning.....I knew he was into cars, apparently has a massive model train collection, too. https://www.autoblog.com/2017/12/11...ck-roadmaster-skylark-brings-400-000-auction/
Wow. I have a friend that owns a '53 Skylark and I think he needs to have Neil Young buy it from him and then have Neil sell it and split the profit.
i once met a fella who had a large collection of buicks. several 70 gs cars, at least one or two stage 1 cars and a 53 skylark. he told me the 53 was worth more than the others combined. he went on and on about the features. it was a gorgeous car.
yes sir Tom, you got that right... it brought that $$ because it was his. The best ones go for 140K to 180K @ auctions.
99.99% of the 53's are missing at least 1 part. only know of 1 that still has the missing part. also, the antennas were mainly on the drivers fender. again only know of one that its mounted on the passenger fender. 53's are the daddy's car and 54's are the sonny'd car. both beautiful cars.
Not many Welfare Mothers driving those unless they have a Sedan Delivery job or an Old Man with a Heart of Gold.
His '48 Roadmaster Hearse also sold for $31,250 http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/three-neil-young-cars-go-auction-la-dec-9
Yep, the Skynyrd and Neil Young thing is well documented.....I was just posting his cars at auction as an interesting bit of news about classic Buicks without delving into his politics. One thing I never understood about Lynyrd Skynyrd's Conservative politics, though, is these lines: Mr. Saturday night special Got a barrel that's blue and cold Ain't good for nothin' But put a man six feet in a hole
And Neil Young's faux environmentalism. I'm not going to go there, except to say that he's an ill-informed hypocrite. I lost any or all respect I once had for the man when he turned into one of the "useful idiots".
