Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but here goes. I have several broken studs and would like to know what everybody uses to fix them.
If you have extra pieces of the same plastic, chop them up and put them in a jar with a little acetone. The plastic will dissolve. Get it to the consistency of milk or a little thicker. You've just made your own plastic glue. The acetone melts the surface of the plastic and welds it together. Super strong On a large, open crack, I'll vee it out and then brush on the plastic glue till its just above the surface. Once it dries and you sand it down, its almost undetectable. If you have a stripped out hole in the grill, brush the glue in the threads. You may have to give it a couple of applications. Then run a tap in the hole. You now have new threads. I'll post up some pictures of a 71 GS grill I brought back from the dead using this process.
