Mine will be staggered the same length as the originals

Bought mine back in 2000 took me almost 20years to put them on and I'm glad I did.Don't know what they were selling for back then but I payed $295 for the chrome ones.

I'm looking forward to your conversion thread! You're starting with a pair of TA Stage 2s? So you're going to cut the "staggering" from the collector end to mach the staggered dimensions of the original, not worrying about the primary length right?

I guess I can just wait 3 weeks to find out :D

Here is a scan from the February 1969 issue of Hot Rod magazine explaining how they work

I'm planning on using the length of the tubes in the Super Scavenger as a guide for the others, reproducing their termination points and the order in which they do so

You don't know how tempted I am to just double slip joint the primaries and cut the collectors off the super scavengers and just slide them , don't know if I can bring myself to do it tho

Don't do that! Buy a set of collectors off of that guy on ebay first. Supposedly, some guy named Bruce is making repro MT's for Pontiacs. I saw his name & number on a You Tube video of a Firebird with MT's. Bruce ...765-896-9798

someone on the yenko board used a vintage set of glass pack header mufflers he cut up for collectors, and it just wasnt that bad...he coated them blue like hooker cool blues..pretty cool..

also for them to work right theres a method to the madness in tube location, and primary length...if you look at the pics hugger posted, you have to swap 2 tube locations for the scavenging to work..

i spent 4 or 5 hrs reading on a couple boards and some really smart guys posted a lot of technical info about why the scavengers work and how..its exhaust pulse etc...just slapping a collector looks cool, but to get them to work there was science..

i want to build some for a nailhead project..the posting listed for ebay, is a guy on the yenko board, hes been doing them for awhile..he moves tubes around etc..and hard to tell they are not real..except they are so nice..

That would be easy . . who knows how it would sound! You're lucky to have an actual pair of SS headers to compare to.

Keep us posted on the build! Are you still planing on fabbing your own collector from sheetmetal?

Could you do it to a set of KB pulse divider headers? 2in primaries with 3 in collector

I agree that the M/T super scavenger is a very unique and cool sound.
Has anybody ever made or tried a Tri-Y style header on a street BBB.
I thought the Tri-Y design was for torque, isn't that was wins street light to street light races ? :D

Hope to have time to get going in the conversion in another week or two. Pretty much been focused solely on painting a 66 Chevelle, which i sprayed Sunday so once it's back on its chassis I can get back to my projects

Nice, but the video is from Sep 9, 2017. Pricey, and where's he been? And he says " We also offer complete Super Scavenger Headers". Anyone want to try him out? Might need a set of flanges from TA.

Do you need a x pipe when you use these MT's
