I've had this 65 for about 10 years. It was originally Bob's car (gransportsedan). All that's left from the original build is the bare frame & body. Bob had a new floor Installed & painted. I'll add more pics & details in a bit.
Thanks guys! Just need to finish interior 560 tomahawk built by JW. I've only taken it to about half throttle, scares the you what out of me! Tko600 5 speed, dual clutch,QuickTime shield Z06 discs all the way around.
One nice ride you've got there!!! Should be a handful!! I've admired that car for years and considered buying it many years ago. You've really developed it into a drivable work of art!
I like it.Can you imagine trying to roll into the throttle in any gear.Maaaan that would be fun!!!!!!!!
Dash turned out great Frank.. glad it's still yours and it's coming along. We did not dyno Frank's 560, but it's built just like several other 750-800 HP Tomahawks that I have done. He's right, it's downright scary fast. There might be a chance with DOT drag radials, but the 11" wide performance tires on that car right now are helpless against the torque, at virtually any speed. I too never had the car at WOT, during test drives.. it is that fast.. I would say that it's an easy mid 10 second piece, if you could hook it up. Looking forward to seeing it finished Frank. JW
I love it, no problems shifting at all, I set it up with hydraulic throw out bearing. Barely have to touch the pedal to shift. Really love the .64 overdrive, freeway speeds at around 2000 rpm!
Thanks Jim, Haven't cut that hole in the hood yet! I have a glass hood I plan on using. Still playing with a couple of options for a scoop.
This was the original plan, but life issues forced a cutback! I hope to go to a similar intake option at some point soon.
I'm in the process of down sizing my house to a condo, I might still have that NOS tri-shield emblem for the center on a 65 special / I will let you know if I do or not ! sorry it took so long to get back to you? I'm an older guy now things slip past me sometimes lol
