I have a 69 Skylark w/Ac do anyone have a pic or diagram showing what & where the wires attaches for the blower motor resistor, A/C relay, blower motor & the wire(s) from the harness for power. Thanks Jaye
Thanks, if I'm reading this correct; I only have a plug for the compressor and a plug with a orange & black wire left after installing the engine harness. Is there a separate harness for the A/C?
I found the harness, there is a a/c wiring harness w/heater wiring it plugs into the remaining wires blower motor relay, blower motor, & heater resistor.
Ok, its cold now so I need the heat, I installed the blower motor wiring harness, there is two wire in a clip orange & green the orange wire is about 12 or 10 ga. The orange one is hot when the car is running, the wires just plug into the A/C relay then the blower motor. When I turn the switch on from the inside the car blower motor doesn't work (there is no power to the wire) What do you think of just running a wire to a switch inside to turn the blower on/off, bad or good idea?
Does it have a high speed blower motor relay mounted on the firewall? If so, check to see if it is good. Lots of time connectors to this relay get too hot and melt the plastic.
Are you sure the ground wire for the blower motor is still in place? On a 70, the ground wire for the blower connects to the firewall.
I’m sure I can run a hot wire from the battery and the blower motor comes on. I’m also going to check the fuse, if I’m not mistaken the thick wire is constant power for the relay and the other one is from the switch which should go hot with engine & blower switch on.
Did you check the resistor array? It is in the circuit for the non high speed positions on the blower. In general, if the fuse is good and there is no power to the high speed blower relay, I would look for corrosion on the firewall connector.
Over a year & a half later the mystery is solved; the A/C hareness I had was missing three clips which the tech at Autowire said they were for the dash, wiper switch and another one. I go under the dash looking for said wire connectors and found three that look a lot like the ones in the A/C harness I purchased; I started pulling on one clip and like magic it grew longer & longer as it wire emerge from behind the heater plenum all the connectors for under the hood were present, ran them through the firewall plug them in and everything works, the vacuum hoses for the motor & heater control valve were also there as well. The PO had taken all the wire off the front along with the sheet metal I guess he pushed the A/C harness through the firewall behind the heater.
