Lots of fabbing to get my full size to fit, especially under the Riviera hood (see 2nd post.) Got one on my Coupe Deville, too.
here's my current engine bay pic. I 'll give you a much improved update pic in May. Hint: there will be more Carburetors and Chrome.
Here's mine. '65 Skylark GS. OOps, never mind, I keep getting a file error when I try to download a picture. What happened to the good old days when you could download any picture you wanted to. Jim (Ponch)
Sorry, I have to ask of the cuff of this thread.. How well does this 65 run? It's just about exactly how it would be of Buick offered the dual quad 425..
The 425 is 30 over hooked to a 4 speed manual and a 355 posi.It will bark the hides in 3rd gear, A hoot to drive.
Thank you. Air cleaner is an O'briens Trucker item. https://www.obrientruckers.com/ecom/product/239/2391/ The clamps are plastic I picked up at a car show, but I bought these Billet Specialties to replace them. http://www.billetspecialties.com/engine-dress-up/hoses-and-accessories/billet-hose-separators I am finishing up the installation of 2x4 FiTech, and will post pics this weekend. Also replaced the plug wires since it looked like Christmas time under the hood. And I removed, soaked the manifolds in molasses for a week to remove the rust, have primed and painted them with VHT "cast iron" ceramic paint, so we will see how well that works. They were rusted from the upper radiator hose inlet solder joint cracking and the coolant made a mess of the pass side. And I can attest to the post by Harle about the dual quad nailheads in the lightweight A-body. I have 3:54 gears and wide ratio T-10 and I have a gear vendors OD behind that. Hoot, indeed! It sounds like an angry chihuahua! Yipe! yipe! bark, bark, bark!
Looks great, Michael! Big difference with just the wires alone, going to be finishing up a FiTech install tonight myself (hopefully).
Thank you! I fired it up, but need to adjust idle to about 600. It's a bit higher than I want. Then I will take it out and see how it runs. Good luck on your install.
Great pics and engine's I don't have a nailhead, but I think they're cool I remember back in the early 80's my cousin worked at an Amoco station in Cleveland Heights, a customer had their Wildcat (IIRC) in for service, it said "Wildcat 465" on the air cleaner, I thought "Wow Buick made a 465" LOL, little did I know then
