there is a bubble mid late 90's caprice or buick road master in the boneyard. it has a rear sway bar. i thought i say somewhere that they fit the 71-76 buick full size. can anyone confirm this. do i need trailing arms as well?

I doubt it will fit, the ‘77 and up full size GM cars size wise are closer to the ‘76 and down mid size GM cars.
If you can look for a rear bar from a 71 to 76 big Chevy ( Caprice, Impala) big Pontiac ( Catalina, Bonneville) or some Olds 88’s had em.
The rear bars were more prominent on Chevy and Pontiac cars, a bit on Olds, hardly on any full size Buick

Yes that is correct, from what I have heard, the '73-'77 GM A (colonnade) cars rear control arms and rear sway bar is the same as the '77-'90 B (full size) cars, and likely most of the '91 - '96 B cars as well. Believe the front control arms are the same, as well.
