The red is GM paint code 75 and really, it's so small just about any formula will be fine. They are all about the same and you would not notice the difference.

I like the purple a little better, but the one linked will work, its thinner than the purple but doesn't turn corners as well
Hugger is correct That tape sucks it’s brittle. That’s 3M old tech. Get the newer stuff not that color. It won’t flex. When you walk away it will flip up. Get the 3M in the green paper version . Smell the tape if it smells like Sensimillia ( marijuana ) That’s the stuff. American tape makes it also in paper. very thin . Sticks better than the nylon.

Georgia This first one is what Hugger said . excellent . But the green i like is paper. Pull the tape on the roll then smell it. smells like good marijuana . Today i will order some and post picture later. That second 3m post the green tape shows the correct tape. in the lower picture in 3/4 size. but the 1/4 inch is green vinyl. i will get a part # for 1/4 green . post later
Bad thing is 3m distributor doesn't have it in stock so I can't pull it or smell it so I'm ordering it online(Amazon probably) Purple is good but too pricey, same thing I checked the specs for the green tape link and it too says paper. Isn't 1/8 inch (3 mm) for main and pinstripe separation? And 1/4 inch (6mm) for rocker panels?
There is the part # This fine line is thinner than the vinyl. And has 60% more memory. Much more user friendly. But the line from the purple tape might be cleaner. or better. This stuff is all i use
What ever your masking on the car or part. Should be cleaned very well with a waterborne Wax& grease remover. Then solvent based wax & Grease remover. Most people don’t realize there is such a thing. You should never clean a car or part. With a solvent wax & Grease . Without the water based first. The solvent used first just moves the dirt around.
What’s really cool about the Purple. 3M puts weak links in the tape. So it can make left or Right turns. When you pull and stretch the tape you can see the lines. When you pull it tighter it brakes off clean. perfect.
