I assume since it is a OO code 68-70 era?

Pictures are what we need for condition of the external casting...
Next factor is want... I would say 3.42 is a wanted item in that era 68-70
If the limited slip is good (need mileage on the rear)
Gears in good used normal wear condition
Clean painted external
500-1000 range.

please disregard the information that I gave to you. I was 100% sure this was an OO axle. But it's not. The one I have is a 342 post but I can't find codes anywhere. Ring and pinion has 1382744 41 12 gmc. Can someone help out? I'm sorry for the mistake. Frank

 

Look on the underside of the driver’s side axle tube,near the pumpkin.

ON = 3:64 There are some guys looking for that rear.
The other question is what year is it exactly. The 68 and early 69 had a sealed axle bearing. The late-69 and 1970 had a roller axle bearing.

 

both axles go one way only. forward or backward. but ring gear says 3:42.

It wouldn’t be the 1st time I’ve seen a housing with the wrong code,or the guts don’t match the code.
