Always love seeing news and updates on this car!

After working on just the frame I look like a coal miner. No way I am cleaning the pan. The spray on the pan of the car doesn't look in bad shape.

Looks a lot better without the undercoating on the frame. Next on the list is to take the ladder bars off and either repaint them or powder coat them. I love the way they look and I want them to POP under the car when people see it from the back.

Thank you to everyone for the positive comments and words of encouragement on this very cool project.

We use that at work, its a good compound, not too abrasive, finer than the Super Duty

Yes Pat that is my car. Little cool info about the ladies in the picture. Marianne Gravatte (Left) and Lynda Wiesmeier (Right) Both are previous Playboy playmate cover models. Marianne was also featured on the cover of the "Invasion of your Privacy" Album from Ratt in 1985. Marianne was also in the video as well. Bill said they were both very nice and that he had dinner with Lynda after the show. (You go Bill.) Sadly Lynda passed away from a brain tumor at the end of 2012. Marianne is still alive and I would love to see if I could get her to autograph a pic for me with her and the car. Just more connection to the 80's and very cool history about this amazing car.

Thank you to Buickcub (Kerry) for getting me a set of under hood seal plates at a great deal.

Just doing little detail stuff as I see things. Like putting on a nicer break pad and some under hood insulation that I already had in boxes of misc parts.

    Car looks great.
Are you going to powder coat Lakewood ladder bars yellow again.
Glad to see they are installed right w spacers in between bottom n top.
I hear from here they no longer include it and from photos I saw here bolts are exposed in middle.
    Those are nice originals.
Keep up the great detail work.

I may powder coat them but if not I will definitely repaint them bright yellow. I love the way they look under the car but I sure hate the way this thing rides. Its go coil over shocks, Station Wagon Springs, and Latter bars !!! Yeah you feel every single tiny bump in the road for sure lol. When we address the rear gears all of this will be also addressed.

I believe Bill said it was taken at the Pittsburgh PA Convention Center. I am not sure what year this was taken. Bill was nice enough to let me take pictures with my phone of the pictures in his scrap book. (He understandably kept his scrap book)

There have been discussions on what springs give right height and quality ride.
Look in suspension section. I have I think 5379 is number. There were a couple more w a lighter spring rate.
For shocks look at red konis which are easily adjustable from soft to stiff. Heck even Monroe has multiple choices.
There are many brands to choose from but get rid of coil overs. No need.
    Good luck w car.

Hey, what's up Ryan? Did you recover the trophies yet? I believe the dates of the corresponding shows are on the trophies. The trophy with yellow crystal was for 2nd place, Semi Custom/Mild Custom Hardtop at Pittsburgh's 22nd Annual Custom Car, Cycle and Van Show in 1980, the final year the custom shows were held at the Civic Arena. The trophy with red inlay was for 2nd place, Semi Custom/Mild Custom Hardtop at Pittsburgh's 23rd Annual Custom Car, Cycle and Van Show 1n 1981, the first year the custom shows were held at the brand new Pittsburgh Convention Center. The trophy with blue inlay was for 3rd place, Semi Custom/Mild Custom Hardtop at Pittsburgh's 24th Annual Custom Car, Van and Celebrity Show in 1982 at Pittsburgh Convention Center. Finally, the trophy with two cars was for 2nd place, Semi Custom Hardtop at Pittsburgh's 7th Annual World of Wheels in 1983 at the Monroeville Expo Mart. This is also where the pictures of the two gorgeous girls with their FOUR trophies were taken.
