no..No! These are not the AMC variety Gremlin, these are the invisible and untraceable variety. My next project install was to be the power steering pump. I went to the last spot I remember seeing it, and it is not there. I think....maybe I put in in the bed of the El Camino. I found my torque wrench. Maybe I should repair the A/C delete panel. Where is the resin. I look in the paint cabinet and its not there but there is the fiberglass cloth. I need scissors to cut it with, but the scissors are not on the peg board. I can't find the resin, but this is a small patch...I wonder how Gorilla Glue would work? I found the sandpaper I needed last week, so I'll put it where I can find it next time. I need a piece of cardboard to put the panel on. Hey here are the painted brackets for the power steering pump. I wonder where it is? I found the coffee can full of bolts for the brackets. Here are the hoses., and under them is my 9/16ths box end...I lost it last week. I found it honey! My drill has the drill bit I was looking for yesterday. SOB! Here is the lid to the power steering pump. I must be close. Why am I carrying the Gorilla Glue? Oh yeah...where are the scissors? Probably the same place as my flex plate, and the intake gasket I never found. I bought a plug for the end of the transmission so it wouldn't leak while I was moving it around, but the plug disappeared too, and later re-appeared under the car after I had taken out, refiltered, and put the transmission back in. Wait, here is the spring for the column shift linkage. I need to install that before I lose it again. I still haven't found the correct bolts for the trans mount. Maybe I should check the coffee can. I need to get the brake line splice on too. What did I do with the spring and where did I put the wrench? Here's the cardboard...what did I do with the Gorilla Glue? OK...Spring on, and when I find the scissors I'll cut the cloth and patch it...done! Here's the distributor...oh yeah I need to prime the oil pump! Transmission lines......speedo cable. It is time for lunch. Does anyone know where my power steering pump is? Oh here is my breaker bar...missing since June. I'm hungry and thirsty. Maybe I should plug in the radio. I need to organize.

Ever have one of those days? Oh here's the resin! Put it where it belongs!

I cleaned out the shop last week to make room for the new addition. Everything got a new home and many things ended up on the scrap pile or off to the dump. Was asked for pictures of some headlight canisters I have. First place I went was to where they used to be. Nope.... then over to where I thought they should have been put, Nope..... grabbed a step ladder and went back to the shed where I have some other Riv parts stashed. Up the ladder, climb around in the loft, dig through boxes, Nope. back into the shop to look where I already looked, still not there. Wandered out to the covered area behind the shop where Im also organizing and spot the little shed door hanging open. Ahhhhaaaa! Walk in, step around a stack of racing tires and there is the box! Success. Took pics then a nap. Ya, I have those days all to often.

Seems to me some guy breaks into my garage when I'm not home. Scatters my tools and parts. He never cleans up after himself either. Judging by the empty beers, I'd say he has a drinking problem too.

I have tool gremlins. They scatter them all over the garage, the truck, the barn, where ever. I'd be in real trouble if I didn't have multiples of everything. I can always go back to the tool box and get another. I worry that they will bring them all back and they won't fit in my tool box.

I'm also worried they will get in my Way Back Machine and fill the barn to overflowing with NOS parts..........

I had a gremlin that decided to live in my garage years back, it knocked an item from the rafters onto the hood of my 69 Electra conv and dented the hood. That Gremlin wore a mask, he was apprehended and sentenced to death

Now I don't feel so bad. Lost one side to a set of shorty headers in my shop two years ago and still have not found it. Took the engine out after I windowed the block in three places, put the new forged bad boy in and half my headers disappeared.

To this day, every time I walk in the shop I keep expecting to see the complete set on the self when I walk in.

How does one loose half of a set of headers?

UPS did it to me then fought me tooth n nail on paying the claim. Had them bolted together. Both sides had wrap around tubes that were bolted on tight. I got one header back and the wrap around was hanging by a few threads. Packing was no where to be found and its somehow my fault.

Ah yes I have me one o den pesky gremlins too, he's so sneaky I'm sure he follows me around - all too often I misplace whatever was in my hand seconds ago, forget what I was looking for originally, spot something I spent ages hunting for last week and so the cycle goes on, mine seems to be quite fond of Beam & cola cans and has a wicked sense of humor, he swipes my can when I put it down, waits till I give up searching figuring I must have finished it so I go get another out of the fridge and so on and so on. I suspect he likes smoking the green stuff too but can't remember why.
How it keeps getting worse is beyond me.

I found a four-digit 1927 Mass. license plate that I have been hunting for for about three years. Naturally I was looking for something else when I found it.
