For the record, that Hemi is about slow. My Chevelle and Monte will stomp it.

Being the Hemi was marketed as a race engine, and the Buick 455 was looked at as a "big car/station wagon engine in a Skylark" that cleaned house.... Hemi included, thats what I believe pisses off the Mopar and Chevy guys.

Official on my end. I ran the Buick, wife ran the Hemi. Then we switched. Both on 14 inch tires, Hemi on bias ply. From a dig, Buick has it covered. From a roll, Hemi doesn't catch the 70 until around 85, but couldn't pass it.

I took my 70 from paint jail and finished it in three weeks. Only waiting on door panels and front seat upholstery.

I hate to say this here but your hemi sure looks good, even if it is slow! That’s a great picture!

The crazy thing is the Hemi is absolutely bone stock. My Buick is a 72 Stage1 455 with God knows what has been done. All I really know is it is a roller cam and a S Divider intake with a 750 Holley. Supposed to be a 492 inch but it sounds bone stock through the cheapie turbo mufflers. Low end? Hemi aint got none. Buick seems to be close to the 496 in my Monte which as an 11.50 car, pulls the left front off the ground at the track.

    Lovin that Torque.

Get that 750 out of that Buick and put a 950 in there to wake it up some.I would like to meet you at the track with the Monte,I like them you know, and race you with my 470 somewhat stock 70 GS,still with original steel heads and a 850 double pumper. .It would be interesting.Bruno.

From the results of the "race" I'd say the opposite. You either have one fast Hemi or one slow roller cammed "492" stroker BBB. Unless the Hemi is a F.A.S.T. car?
