Ray had the original steering wheel.... but, not the parts to make the horn work. I have the wheel, the inlay you push and the bracket to mount it into the wheel. Nothing else. Any advice? My wife wants the original steering wheel and I have spent the last two weeks repairing all of the cracks and chips then priming, sanding, priming, sanding... paint and clearcoat. So, it looks good, but it really needs a horn. is there an aftermarket kit I can purchase to restore the horn function?

Thanks for any and all advice. It would have been easier if I had seen it together.:(

Hello: She is a 66 Wildcat. Ray thought he threw away the steering wheel since it was so far gone. I picked it up this fall and restored it to the best I could. Here are a couple of pictures showing what I have. Steering Wheel 1.jpg Steering Wheel 2.jpg

Thank you. I sent the picture to Ray. Maybe, just maybe he still has the parts and with a picture, he can look for the parts in his garage. Lots of coffee cans full of "treasures". Hopefully, the rest of the parts are hidden in those cans.

Well, Ray checked his local auto wreckers who had an electra..... crushed 6 years ago.:(. But... I found an auto wreckers in the states with a 66 Cat they are wrecking. From what I have researched, you go to the south west for body parts and north east for interior parts. In this case, I do not need the wheel, which is probably ruined. I need the electrical parts on the interior. Cross my fingers... toes... eyes... and anything else I can think of that they will sell me these parts and ship them to me. I have spent the better part of two weeks fixing the wheel. I really want to see it on the car.

Well, I owe a huge thank you to member TrunkMonkey (love that handle!). He found me a steering wheel with the parts I needed. If they do not fit into my steering wheel I will simply refurbish this steering wheel. BuickV8Mike sent me the information needed to put the wheel together. This forum, and the people on it, are the best!
