This is the pump i used in my 65 wagon. I had the fuel pump on the frame rail and it's all you could hear. When that started fail, i noticed Holley made this little unit. Fits perfectly where the stock pick up tube goes. And i can hear my electric engine fan now without the fuel pump whine.

So I now have 3 megasquirt suppliers. DIYTune, AMPEfi, and now EFISource.
I ordered the trans controller from DIYTune on Tuesday, it shipped Wednesday or Thursday. It is supposed to be here tomorrow.
    HOWEVER
I ordered the wiring harness from EFISource (DIYTune is TN or Kentucky, EFItune is Georgia/Florida).... Get this, on Thursday night, they sent it Friday and it arrived today. Well done EFISource, well done - you have set a high bar indeed, but for being so good, you get praised here...

thank you for the recommendation.... I need at least 340 lph, and actually, I'll probably need double that when I get this thing at full song (which means a second fuel pump)... however, that is darn good advice and I really appreciate you sharing what works.... I have shelves full of "not quites" .

    wires, wires for everyone!
    more wires
    [IMG]
should be fun figuring out which side goes where.... I already see a small problem in that some of the plugs need to be changed (2)
but the trans controller/wiring looks plug and play
    [IMG]
the motor will not go into the car in this configuration
    [IMG]
    yeah
    [IMG]
    take 2
    [IMG]
how is it I had clearance before but not now?
to be honest, I'm not sure what the solution is going to be - the hard/best way would be move the motor back 3"... for what I want to do with it, that would do all sorts of good, problem is that means firewall mods (not big ones, thankfully, but still more work)
I have about 1 1/2" before the firewall, but if I don't notch, I'd have to shift the motor forward to pull the transmission... yeah, no
    [IMG]
it is going to look good with a turbo there... but that's round 2
    [IMG]
I'm going to have to come up with a cross member plan
    [IMG]
    does look good in place
    [IMG]

the wiring looks good too, far better then Howell's but it's almost a shame but I have to at least open the lines because I need to put dash sensor wires and wire the starter, alternator and a/c clutch.

I know it seems silly to do this now, however, the next step to make it run is a fuel system.... which is under the floor...which needs to be painted....
    fun fun
    [IMG]
    good tools for this task
    [IMG]
    getting there....

after the brake, I worked on this...
first the motor was moved back... still not sure this is enough, but it's against the firewall now
    [IMG]
also an issue with the shifter
    [IMG]
I think I can shift the motor a bit to the right

at least it now clears while sitting on the motor mounts
    [IMG]

then onto the reason to fix th brake
    first cleaning more
    [IMG]
wood would be cool, but metal is so much easier
    [IMG]
next up, die building to make the ribs

so beside going to a swap meet then a car show in the rain and hail today, got a bit more accomplished
    my bumper is back
    [IMG]
as I mentioned before, they said it was too much work/impossible.
under the wrap is a shiny, straight one
    [IMG]
I'm, in the end, happy with them. Initially, they wanted more for the replacement bumper, but on their own initiative, dropped the price to reasonable. Here's how that worked... I could have bought another bumper for $450, the chroming was $500 for a straight bumper (straightish). They charged me $950.... when I first talked to them, they were $400 higher.... it wasn't a 'deal' but it was fair and, to me, that's excellent.

also bought some Camaro motor mounts so I don't have to ginsu my Buick ones
    [IMG]

then chopped the heck out of the back for the battery box

need to start assembling this (mostly just to get all the parts in one spot)...

    time for motor mounts adjustment
    [IMG]
    and then the fun begins
    [IMG]
at least the Camaro mounts move it higher
    [IMG]

    mounts,, move from here
    [IMG]
    to here (too far)
    to here.... just right
    [IMG]

    too much clearance...

while I am all about keeping the pan away from danger, I also want it as low as possible to make room up top
    [IMG]
In this particular case, and to get it off the floorboard

then onto grinding (or, how to take a picture where it looks like nothing has changed)

when we last left you, grinding was happening
    [IMG]
    then rust converting
    [IMG]
    lots of converting
    [IMG]
then the smoke got let out
    [IMG]
then more grinding (I buy these by the 6 pack - and need to buy more)
    then a test fit
    [IMG]
not bad, hit most of what I aimed at with the weld holes
    [IMG]

tomorrow paint (converter is still drying), then thursday weld this down and get onto the next hole

time to work on the worst damage
    [IMG]
for a sedan but I'll make it work
    [IMG]

I know this is strange, but the easiest way to see if something is the same on both sides is take a picture.... in this case, in person it looked like the right side was in further then the left.... the picture says no
    [IMG]
    a bit long
    [IMG]
    hmmm.. line ups
    [IMG]
    rough cut on the front
    [IMG]
lined up again, notice it dives? that's correct(ish)
    much closer
    [IMG]

and as I'm ADD, a door fix as well
    [IMG]
    rust converting
    [IMG]
it needed it, and sound deadener removal
    [IMG]

picture to remember how the door goes back together
    [IMG]
    inside needs rust converting too
    [IMG]
initial fit - and many of the dents are gone..... still have a couple more, but it's better

What intake are you planning on using? I had to use a 2000 Camaro intake and waterpump. To use the truck accessory brackets that came with the 99 Silverado i stripped, i had to put spacers behind the waterpump to push it out 1/2 inch did the belt would be centered on the pulley. I also went to DirtyDingo.com and got an alternator bracket. It turned the alternator 90 degrees and lowered it 4 inches so it would clear the hood.

I ditched the drive-by-wire, and went with an aftermarket sheetmetal intake
    [IMG]

the accessory system is ICT with everything located on the driver's side so I can put a turbo on the passenger side (and an AC pump because I like blowing doors off in AC comfort). All of this 'should' fit below the hood. It did on initial fit, but I've changed the motor mounts and the motor is (at the moment) about 2" taller then first fit... that said, it will lower about 1" from current which should be more than enough to maintain stock body lines and no hood scoop....

    onward
    door
    [IMG]
    slightly rust skin
    [IMG]
so today I decided to suck it up (wearing a face mask of course) and do the dusty tasks that are between me and done
    [IMG]
    so I got to it
    [IMG]

and the inside of the door shell got a rust convert plus paint
    [IMG]
    as did the skin
    [IMG]
    and then fit it together
    [IMG]
    and viola
    [IMG]
have to weld or braze these edges
    [IMG]

then a weld-thru coat on the new metal floor
    [IMG]

then onto fitting the quarter panel... I'm still questioning why I bought it.... nothing on it fits - not even the wheel opening
    [IMG]

    it is progress....

    who says a Buick's weight isn't useful?

more Buick and Chevy weight... fun fact, I had no idea I had those 882 heads..
would you look at that, it's not wood
    [IMG]

I will never use weld-through primer... this car lasted longer then me without it, and it will last longer then me once fixed.... it splatters, and burns.... and emits cuss words

I never explain, but I'll do it this time. the floor isn't perfect - but it isn't seen AND my wife came and helped me do it, she never comes to the shop and in this she enjoyed helping (as evidenced by her telling friends).... it could look like a child's crayon work (and it does) but it is fit for purpose, and there's a back story....

Okay wagon guys, there is a vast amount of space between the bottom of the frame and the floorboard - why is the fuel tank skinny and flat rather then a bigger square (e.g. like a suburban tank). I'm asking because you can buy a wagon tank from Tanks.com but you basically have to use a special fuel pump because it's so narrow. Of course, special=expensive and limited options.... the tank is (by memory) 27x38x6, but the space could easily accommodate a 12" deep tank with the same volume.... so what is it I'm missing? way too often I buy something then realize there was something that takes the idea from brilliant to backstock.... or was it just GM using the same part with a relocated filler because that was what fit in sedans?....

Fricken cool, with the bigger tank you could probably get 500 miles out of a full tank before you even have to look for a gas station!(that is if in one can keep their foot out of it?)

    onto productive things
borrowing the fuel pump/tank from the Fiat
    [IMG]
20 gallon tank.... there is LOTS of room here
    [IMG]

    then onto fender fitting
    [IMG]
    slot to make the curve
    [IMG]
it's funny, I tried to sell my other plasma.... no one wanted it, but I've been using the heck out of it
    [IMG]

    now we're getting somewhere
    [IMG]
I'm going to end up using the extension I bought awhile ago with the fender... shouldn't have to, but since it's a wagon, the lower body line is more parallel with the ground then a sedan.... ah well, I already had it so it's nice I can use it.
