70 429 CJ, 4 speed, factory power sunroof. 1 of 15. Just try to find parts for this. Except for the drivetrain most Torino parts do not interchange.
They are super cool. You're not going to mistake the schnoz for anything else. That's amazing to see one with a sunroof, especially a 4 speed I'd imagine. Love it.
Here is a piece of trivia about the "schnoz". The owner tells me that it is mounted on a hinge and it swings up. I suppose that this is for service access. I will try to get a picture.
Nice! There is a local guy here in Cincy that has a couple of these things. Probably known in the Cyclone/Spoiler world-Dan Wilk.
They were pretty rare even back in the day. But I've seen one before. At the MCACN show last year this was another weird Mercury that I had never seen in my life. It was blue, 69-70-ish, I think it was a Montego MX. Something like this, but different. https://www.mecum.com/lots/DA0915-222767/1970-mercury-montego-hardtop/
Dan bought another one that was used as a race car and sold this car to a guy who traded it to my friend. At the time it was a restoration in progress but unfinished.
Sweet Mercury. I have owned several. The first was a '66 Comet Caliente. The last was a '72 Montego MX Brougham that has just over 5,000 miles when I sold it about 6 years ago or so. .
I really dig these; https://www.google.com/search?q=mar...i#imgdii=kF4MpRElveMxPM:&imgrc=n0TjN8iDGP-tDM: It’d be cool to have a (big) garage with later versions of a Marauder X100, Wildcat and Sport Fury GT or s23. Patrick
