    Hello,
I have a 68 skylark convertible here in Spain.
Which is the reference for the weatherstripping outside the glass in the doors?
    I attach here a picture.
I need to know the parts nr, maybe better in opgi parts.
Just the rubber black part outside the glass in the doors.
    Thanks
    Ivan

I found a kit I pursched last year.
I expected rubber parts outside...... but seems that outside is just a felt part, and inside it is rubber and chrome.
Am I right? Any detailed picture of your cars please.?
Here in Spain is almost impossible to find a similar car.....
    I send you some pics.
Also I have doubts with the correct position of felts for the back seat windows
    Thanks.

Hi. Looking at the label it says your kit is for "Special " molding. Hard to tell from the photo but it looks like your car on the top of the door and quarter panel doesn't have it . It was a bit of a rare option on convertibles. A chrome molding feature maybe about an inch wide if I recall.

    That could be yes....

Anybody has the right reference number to buy? Or the link?
    Thanks

I believe I seen some company on Ebay selling both styles of that brand before

I ordered " Repop " brand before but the weather strip was too narrow. Looked nice and made in U.S. but narrow compared to original. I think the one you have is wider and made in U.S. also.
If you come across a factory looking one ,
Please post because I need for my 69 convertible also.
    Thank,
    Steve

When you say narrow I assume you refer to rubber seal that seals against glass. In this pic repop kit BU154A. 69 Buick skylark with special moldings. I have cut it to fit/ replace felt "whiskers" on 68 with special moldings. The OG Weatherstip had rounded rail on top as does repop @.also the 68 had a flat shim between moulding and weather strip. Now I'm gonna have to either reuse it or cut replacement out of bicycle rim liner. IMG_20200623_151626.jpg

Anyone have a recommendation where I can purchase the weather stripping on top of the door and the rubber that goes in the trunk around the inner lip for a 73 GS? Pics below: 20201107_155609.jpg 20201107_155552.jpg 20201107_155450.jpg 20201107_155446.jpg

Any suggestions? Hate to think car will have new paint and nasty looking/sealing weatherstripping.

I would suggest access to a Malibu based forum - maybe same year - and see what everyone is using. The cheap stuff always has a way of coming back at you.

Ivan, try OPGI (Original Parts Group, Inc.) .... click on this link to rder a catalog (I think it is free): https://www.opgi.com/catalogs/1961-72-skylark-special-gs-gsx-restoration-parts-catalog/ .

I looked in this catalog for the parts I think you were looking for: Click this link ==> https://www.opgi.com/skylark/ , then enter your Make (Buick) / Model (Skylark) / Year (1968). Then, you should be at a webpage which shows 1968 Buick Skylark Parts & Accessories. Then, click on Gaskets & Seals Categories for 1968 Skylark and then finally, you'll see the link for Weatherstrip Seals for 1968 Skylark where you can look at all kinds of options for part for your year Buick.

Or, if you are having any difficulty with my instructions, you could just click this link (===> https://www.opgi.com/skylark/1968/gaskets-seals/weatherstrip-seals/ ) and look for the "Window Felts" for 1968 Skylark Convertible.

In the future, if you have questions like this, post your question in the "Bench" thread and there will be many more Members who will see your questions and be able to help you faster.

Anyone have experience, good or bad, buying from Chicago Muscle Car Parts?

Try www.steelerubber.com. They make the largest variety of weatherstripping. OPGI, Chicago Muscle etc. are resellers of parts made by others.

Thanks. Ended up getting the rubber door jambs and trunk rubber from Steele and the window sweeps from Chicago Muscle Cars as Steele didn't offer them. Haven't put any of them on yet so hoping fitment is good. Will update once on.
