I recently changed the fluid and filter and resealed the pan gasket on my 350 trans. Also while the pan was off I changed out the detent cable, kick down cable, whatever you call it. Anyways now when the car sits for awhile, there is a leak, I mean quite a bit of fluid comes out. I don’t see it dripping when car is running but it’s coming from the passenger front side of pan where cable goes in. I assume there is a seal, didn’t change it when I put the new cable on. Would it leak like that when car is sitting?

There is an o-ring. Yes it can cause a leak if the seal is not changed.
Clean the area, and wrap a peice pf paper towel just around the area where the cable goes through the case and see of it gets wet, before you pull it apart, to be certain.

O ring could have been damaged or is missing ^
