Hello, I was hoping that the v8 Buick community could help me. My mechanic is presently attempting to install a new one piece rear main seal on my 455 and he is stuck on how to actually do it. Unfortunately he started taking it apart without exactly knowing what the process is. Is tha way to install the seal avoiding major tear down ? The car is up on the joist and not going anywhere until this is done. Any help would be life saving. Thank you so much. Brad Martin
Brad, you might try moving this info request to : Street/strip 400/430/455 or The Bench or Wrenchin' Secrets I doubt a one piece seal will be able to be installed with the engine in the car. Consider a good two piece seal instead.
